Some people say that walking through the Gobi Desert inspires awe by its never ending sanddunes; others say it is the incredible beauty of desert’s starry night. You may ask a thousand people about their perspective and you will receive a thousand different answers.
Challenge the Gobi Desert through the historical city of Dunhuang. Climb up the slopey sanddunes of the Desert, walk the dried out riverbeds, marvel at the never ending landscape while paying respects to the ancient monuments of the silk road. Come use your two feet and write your very own desert story at Dunhuang.

STAGE 1
Begin in historical Dunhuang City and prepare for your journey to cross the Gobi Desert. Runners will witness the magnificent desert sunrise at dusk, before they begin to the course and are instantly engulfed by the vast desert beauty. During the journey, you will feel the majestic desert sun, the strength and vitality of local ejina populus, and stargaze at millions of stars at our desert campground. As you revel in your spirit for challenge, soak in the historical atmosphere of the Dunhuang and ponder how this ancient silk road have helped shape modern trade and society.

Continue to pass through the endless expanse of the Black Gobi, passing through wetlands, saline-alkali lands, yarding terrain, and more ejina populus. Throughout this journey, you will learn to overcome physical fatigue, spiritual loneliness, and the overwhelming sun, malicious winds, and other desert obstacles. Even when your shoulders are tired, your feet are bruised, let the incredible desert terrain motivate you to power through! Allow pain and fatigue to become your greatest mentors as you ponder through the many philosophies of life.
